IPL Laser Rejuvenation
Description
Before IPL laser rejuvenation procedure: Before the procedure, all active inflammation should be treated if possible. We do not perform the procedure during antibiotic treatment; at least 2 weeks must have passed since the last medication. If you are taking medications, please inform us before coming to the procedure. Stop using retinol or other active ingredient creams 3 days before the procedure. Continue use once the skin has recovered from the procedure. Contraindications include oncological diseases, chronic inflammation in the body, keloid scars, active herpes, freshly tanned skin, melasma, epilepsy. Treatment cannot be performed on tanned, dark skin. At least 2-4 weeks must have passed since tanning, depending on skin tone. Self-tanning creams should also not be used 2 weeks before the procedure. If dark hairs grow in the treatment area, they should be shaved the day before or on the day of the procedure. The procedure is not performed during pregnancy and breastfeeding. For persons under 18, we perform the procedure only with parental or guardian consent.
After IPL laser rejuvenation procedure: Do not consume alcohol for 24 hours after the procedure. Do not visit saunas or pools for 2 weeks. SPF 50 sunscreen must be used for 2 weeks. Other facial procedures may be done after 2 weeks (cosmetician, facial massage, chemical peeling, aesthetic injections, etc.). After the procedure, mild redness, flushing and swelling may occur. In rare cases, bruising may develop. To reduce flushing and heat sensation, a cold compress may be applied (refrigerator cold only, not from the freezer!). To soothe burning sensation and restore the skin, use a restorative cream (e.g. Bepanthen, Burnshield, Cicabio, Cicaplast Baume, etc.) until the skin has recovered. Thermal water spray (Avene, La Roche Posay) is also very effective for moisturizing and soothing the skin. Antihistamines (allergy tablets, available over the counter – Zyrtec, Claritine) may be used to reduce uncomfortable swelling. Makeup products may be used immediately after the procedure.
After the procedure, the pigment shedding process begins. The pigment darkens and pigment crusts (resembling coffee grounds) form on the skin, which come off naturally in about 7-10 days. Do not remove them yourself. The skin may be washed with products for sensitive skin (e.g. gentle cleansing gel or micellar water). Since IPL treatment is often performed as a course, the next procedure can be done after 4 weeks. To prolong IPL treatment results, use sunscreen year-round (do not tan your face!). When coming for the first time, a specialist consultation takes place first. The specialist performs a thorough facial analysis and determines the necessity of the procedure. During the consultation, the specialist explains everything related to the procedure and provides instructions for proper at-home aftercare. We perform IPL procedures for treating acne, redness and pigmentation.
